Our school’s primary responsibility is to our children.

In the wake of horrific incidents of school violence across the country, Great Beginnings is dedicating Give Big to the safety of our children and teachers.

 Our school believes that staff, parents, students and community members play a part in keeping learning environments safe. Our teachers model safe behavior, monitor student and visitor behavior, and reinforce the expectations set forth in a variety of behavior programs.

Emergency Crisis & Medical Training:

We are additionally requesting support for a 16-hour Wilderness First-Aid and crisis response training. This comprehensive course offers relevant and realistic first-aid training, and it includes pertinent information for seasonal outdoor activities, and emergency medical response when assistance from an ambulance is impossible. Great Beginnings will pay for/ host this training for summer staff and eligible employees for the 2018/19 school year. Additionally, this course gives a much higher level of medical training than licensing requires. This course will give the staff at Great Beginnings the highest level of medical care of any school in Bozeman. And, you'll rest assured that our staff will be able to handle medical issues, emergency crisis response, and field trip emergencies. 

Security Solutions Campus Safety:

Working with Security Solutions, our school is requesting support for a multi-tiered plan to address safety concerns on both campuses. Our school recognizes that school safety is a constantly evolving area. Our school will use the support from Give Big to address teacher training and facility improvements, the primary deterrents to school violence.

And if we reach our $7,500 goal?

All money over $7,500 will go toward the outside. Bikes. Sand. Balls. Playground fun for both campuses!
