About Make a Heart Happy! Volunteer with Hospice in DOWAGIAC

We are seeking volunteers for side by side companionship with patients. Companions typically spend about an hour per week with the patient having friendly chats, or participating in hobbies the patient enjoys. They may also run errands for the patient or family, or provide respite care. Respite care would be the same as companionship, except the patient's care giver would be out of the home. This allows the patient's care giver to take care of things (like their own medical appointments) that they would not otherwise be able to do. Volunteers are a vital part of our staff, and have the very personally rewarding experience of brightening someone's day.
