About.
Goodwill GoodGuides is a
national mentoring program for
youth between the ages of 12
and 17 who want to learn about
careers and prepare for success.
The goal of GoodGuides is to
equip youth to build career
plans and learn skills to prepare
for school completion,
post-secondary training and
productive careers.
Lead.
Volunteer four hours a month and equip
a young person to be a confident and
engaged member of our community.
As a mentor you will:
• assist youth in identifying career
interests and preparing for their
future
• inspire positive decisions
• support a successful transition to
education, skills attainment and
career opportunities
• participate in youth led, adult
supported service learnings
• make a difference in the life of a
young person
Make a difference.
Peer mentors must be at least 16
years of age, and adult mentors
must be at least 21 years of age.
Since consistency is essential for
successful relationships, a
minimum one year commitment
is required.
Mentors will be matched with mentees from throughout Maine and Portsmouth,NH. Mentors and mentees will meet individually and as a group with other mentors/mentees for fun activities in the community or at a Goodwill of NNE location.
Mentors will recieve training and on-going supervision from GoodGuides staff to support them and their mentee with having a lifechanging experience.

Application Process

Applicants must complete a GoodGuides mentor application and give consent for criminal background and personal reference checks to be conducted.
