About Food Drive to Benefit Backpack of Hope Ministry
The Good Samaritan Food Pantry housed within the First United Methodist Church in Louisville, MS As helps sponsor a Backpack of Hope Ministry for students of local schools in need. Bags of easy to prepare food items that a child can open and eat without assistance are provided on Fridays for students that have been identified by the school as "at risk" (not having access to enough food over the weekend).
We are always in need of volunteer groups to conduct food drives throughout the year to collect nonperishable, easy to prepare food items that a child can open and eat without assistance to supplement the food the pantry receives to distribute weekly during the school year.
This is a great volunteer opportunity for a group of people and is very youth-friendly as well!
