Christine’s Dream Equestrian Center at Rich Harvest Farms,
in association with Giant Steps school for autism, is a
PATH* certified program. All activities are conducted under
the supervision of a PATH certified instructor.
The equine therapy program is dedicated to improving the independence and quality of life for children and adults with autism.
The power of horses to influence people is astounding. Horses can respond immediately and give feedback to the rider's action or behavior in real time, thus enhancing the therapeutic effects of horseback riding.
Equine therapy has unique potential to improve or heighten an individual's sense of connection with the outside world.
Therapeutic riding helps individuals with physical, emotional, behavioral and cognitive challenges by utilizing the movement of the horse to benefit the rider. Additionally, Equine Assisted Activities provide opportunities for experiential education, vocational skills development, and recreational skill development.
Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies include:
Therapeutic Horseback Riding
Grooming and Non-Riding Horsemanship Skills
Benefits of Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies include, but are not limited to:
Improved motor skills, and increased strength, balance and range of motion
