About WAGS to Riches Fundraiser

Wags to Riches is the GSRNC’s huge annual fundraising PARTY and boy, is it FUN! But why is Wags to Riches such an important event for GSRNC? Well, it’s a great way for volunteers, supporters, and adopters to meet each other & get (re)acquainted with the organization. It helps all the volunteers recharge their batteries so they can keep on making time for our GSDs. And it’s also a time to learn something new, from watching the cool K-9 demonstrations to talking to the on-site GSD trainer. Finally, it’s a way to increase and maintain our visibility in the community.

But the biggest reason? MONEY. It costs a lot of money to rescue GSDs. Wags to Riches is our big money-maker, but not through the admission cost – that only covers the cost of each guest’s meal & rental of the party space. The real money is made through a silent auction, grand raffle, bag raffle, and beverage sales.

You can imagine that with all those elements it takes a big, committed team to make it all happen!

WHAT IT TAKES

Time commitment: 3-4 hours a month, with more the two months before Wags to Riches held in October.

Location: Mostly home-based, but requires participation in a few meetings throughout the year, and attendance at Wags to Riches

Technology needs: Email & phone connectivity

Skills: Ability to work on a team
