Gateway Habitat for Humanity of Pocatello is hosting a hot dog cookout with family fun activities and raffle prizes from 3pm to 7pm on May 3rd at our ReStore in Pocatello. We will have wifi powered tablets on hand for you to make your donation during the event. A verified donation of at least $10 will give you three free raffle tickets plus the opportunity to purchase additional raffle tickets for $2.00 each. (Those who cannot donate at this time may still purchase raffle tickets for $5.00 each.)Pocatello's Habitat for Humanity local affiliate, known as Gateway Habitat for Humanity of Pocatello, is participating in the annual Idaho Gives campaign on May 3, 2018!

OUR STORY:

The Pocatello Habitat affiliate has been in existence since 1996 and has built some 12 homes for selected home buyers who would otherwise not qualify for a conventional mortgage. Through our volunteers, we provide our homebuyers with financial counseling prior to their purchase and  a modest well-built home afterwards. Our home buyers must also put in 500 hours of "sweat equity," volunteering either on the construction site of their home-in-progress or at our ReStore.

Home buyers who purchase through Habitat see their lives changed for the better over the period leading to their purchase and, of course, afterward. Home ownership not only helps the family, it also contributes to the stability and quality of the local community!

We rely on donations to keep our building projects going, and Idaho Gives is one of the ways we are able to enhance donations to Gateway Habitat for Humanity: through Idaho Gives, we will be eligible for bonus prizes based on how and when our donors make their contributions as well as the amount raised.
