About Street Outreach Volunteer

Volunteers will go out into the community to provide homeless youth and teens in crisis immediate access to services. The Street Outreach Team (consisting of staff and volunteers) work together to distribute Gateway information packets, clothing, food, hygiene products, etc. The team also provides transportation to teens in need of shelter.
The Street Outreach weekly schedule is:
Monday - 4:00pm-8:00pm
Tuesday - 3:00pm-7:00pm
Wednesday - 4:00pm-8:00pm
Thursday - 10:00am-3pm
Friday - 4:00pm-8:00pm
Volunteers can choose a day in which they will volunteer on a weekly basis - consistency is important when working with homeless youth; as it builds trust between the teen and Street Outreach Team.

Application Process

Volunteers will need to go through an application process which will involve a background check, TB test, and a reference check. Please contact Sophia to set up a time to come in and get your volunteering process started! Gateway Community Services looks forward to hearing from you.
