About Volunteer at Kern County Animal Services

Our shelter is always seeking additional volunteers* to help us care for our animals and help them find new homes. Dedicated volunteers are critical to our goal of saving lives. There are many ways to get involved, including assisting staff with feeding, cleaning and caring for the animals; fostering animals that are too young, sick or injured to be adopted; clerical projects; lost and found support, and off-site adoption and special event support.

Application Process

If you are 16 or older, please fill out our volunteer application at http://kerncountyanimalservices.org/VolunteerInfo.aspx
and submit it for review. Once approved, you will be contacted to attend an orientation and training based on your volunteer duty.
