Volunteer Opportunities - Our need for volunteer services vary from season to season. It is our goal to keep you both challenged and satisfied in your volunteer position.

Visitor Services

--Gift Shop: Greet customers, assist with purchases and provide Park information.

--Tram Driving: Enjoy a beautiful day outside, talking with and transporting Park visitors across the pedestrian bridge that spans our gorgeous estuary.

--Guided Nature Tours: Take a group of Park visitors on a walk through the Park’s various plant communities; or participate in our guided kayak tours.

--Nature Center: Provide support to Park staff by greeting visitors, help to maintain exhibits, terrariums, and aquariums. If you are interested in animals, you may also assist in feeding the reptiles, fish, and invertebrates.

Natural Resources
--Beach and Estuary Clean-up: Help us keep the environment safe and beautiful for our visitors and wildlife by removing litter from the beach, dunes, and mangroves.

--Invasive/Exotic Plant Removal: Learn about native and exotic vegetation. Assist Park staff in maintaining our very important resource in its natural state.

Maintenance
--Skilled and Unskilled Construction and Maintenance: From painting buildings to maintaining equipment to constructing sheds and other jobs that allow you to indulge your "inner contractor" while maintaining the Park infrastructure.

Become a volunteer - fill out an online application at https://volunteers.floridastateparks.org/

Be sure to select John D. MacArthur Beach State Park as your first choice of park so we receive an email notification of your application. Once your application is received, we will be in touch via email as to your next steps on the way to becoming a Florida State Park volunteer!
