About The Farm at Boston's Long Island Shelter

The Farm at Boston's Long Island Shelter helps feed hungry bodies, minds, and spirits by providing 25,000 pounds of high quality, first harvest produce (and honey and eggs too!) for the our shelter's kitchen, and by providing hands-on job training, work-readiness skills, life skills and education for homeless individuals as part of the Serving Ourselves Job Training Program.


We need volunteers to help with:

The Farm needs volunteers from May to December to assist with everything from planting to harvesting. The Farm can accommodate individuals and groups up to 15 people and is a great opportunity for your company's Community Service Day or for your school to get involved.
