About Community Meals Program

ou can help feed hungry bodies, minds and spirits by providing hot nutritious meals for the homeless. Just get together a group of co-workers, colleagues, school mates or friends and family to sponsor and serve meals at our Boston area shelters (Woods Mullen Shelter in the South End and Long Island in Quincy). You pick the location and night you would like to sponsor.

For just a few dollars a guest and a couple of hours of your time, you and your group can provide our community's homeless with a delicious meal and support all our programs with much needed financial support. You can even pick from a variety of hot nutritious meals you would like to serve.

But perhaps more importantly, because the meals are served by your group you help demonstrate to our homeless guests that people in the community do indeed care about them and their well-being. This demonstration of kinship and compassion helps reaffirm a sense of dignity and self-esteem in hundreds of people's lives - attributes crucial to a successful move beyond homelessness to independence.
