About Volunteering Ideas for Food Bank

The Food Bank receives hundreds of applications a year for volunteering. We appreciate that so many want to give their time to help those in need. However, due to space constraints, the Food Bank limits the number of volunteers that can volunteer at one time. Therefore, if we are unable to accommodate you or your group, consider organizing a Food Drive. We can help you by sending materials to assist you in your collection.

There are many, many ways that individuals and groups have helped the Food Bank. Here are some ideas for ways you can help out, too!
--fill grocery orders during regular service hours
--prepack grocery bags
--rotate supplies
--sort and shelve donations
--unload trucks
--help during special food drives
--pick up donations from local businesses
--assist with mass mailings
--turn a party into a charitable event--Ask your guests to bring a canned good as their entrance "ticket."
--work toward scouting achievement awards
--earn community service hours toward high school graduation, or for your fraternity, sorority, or other service organization
--hold a food drive
--help with our recycling needs
--unload food deliveries
--clean our office spaces
--serve on a committee
--Publicity: Assist with newsletters and Public Relations
--Fundraiser
