About Be a Tourist in Your Own Town
Shift Times: 9:30am-1:30pm and 1:30pm-5:30pm
On May 30th, residents of the greater Lansing region are invited to be a tourist in their own town. Over 90 organizations participate in this low-cost event and provide lots of fun activities.
Fenner will be participating in this event both at the Nature Center and at Potter Park Zoo in conjunction with International Migratory Bird Day. We need volunteers to help run activity stations and stamp passports during this event.
At Fenner: 1 volunteer needed per shift
Volunteers will be stamping passports and assisting visitors as they participate in activities like a community mural, scavenger hunt, or other Fenner exhibits.
At Potter Park Zoo: 3-5 volunteers needed per shift
For International Migratory Bird Day at Potter Park Zoo we have 3 activity stations to cover with Fenner volunteers: Fenner Information, Using Binoculars, and a Prairie Habitat game. All information needed for the station will be provided to you in advance. Fenner staff will also be available during the event to help you get started and oriented to your station.
