About El Salvador Project FIAT

EWB/MAP was originally contacted by Dave Haeussler who gave a presentation regarding this project. Dave became involved with the NGO; Project Fiat, who has been working in the community for some time building clinics, roads and dwellings, through his local church in Philadelphia.

While working in the community, Dave became aware of an ongoing health problem stemming from a lack of clean potable water. There is an existing system that pumps water from a well to holding tanks which in turn supply water through a gravity piping distribution system to approximately 500 homes. The supply is sporadic and the quality questionable.

Project Fiat recognized the problem and realized that engineering expertise was required to develop solutions. After Dave made a presentation to EWB-MAP a project application was submitted to EWB-USA and approved.
