About EPCAMR Cleanups in Ashley Borough

One cleanup will be along Hazleton Street, starting at the Main Street traffic light and ending at the top of Hazleton Street, near the Business Route 309 traffic light.

The second cleanup will be along S. Main Street starting at the Hazleton Street traffic light and ending near the traffic light at the Hanover Industrial Park and Park-n-Ride. Along this section, we may send volunteers into the Huber Breaker Preservation Society's Miners Memorial Park to cleanup some trash and debris since it is right along S. Main Street.

The third cleanup will be along Sugar Notch Run near the top of Preston Drive where the entrance to the Earth Conservancy's Sugar Notch Loop Trail System begins. EPCAMR has marked these trails last season and litter was all too common right along the tributary to Solomon Creek. The headwaters of this tributary are native trout waters.

EPCAMR Staff will serve as Cleanup Coordinators at each site. The sites are registered at the Great Pennsylvania Cleanup website with details. We are trying to get donated supplies from PennDOT, PEC NE Office, and Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful.

Cleanups will be coordinated from 9-5pm. PA DOT will be removing the trash.
