About Tutors needed!

Volunteer tutors are needed in Rolla, St. James, Cuba, and Owensville to help students improve their reading, writing, math and English language skills. Day classes are provided in Rolla.. Evening classes are located in St. James, Cuba, Owensville and Rolla.

Call (573) 719-1323 if you would like to attend our next tutor training session. Time and date determined by volunteer availability.

Application Process

Each volunteer must complete a Missouri State Highway Patrol name-search background check. The cost is $13.25 to complete online: https://www.machs.mshp.dps.mo.gov/MocchWebInterface/home.html. A copy may be mailed to East Central Area Literacy Council, PO Box 1336, Rolla, MO 65402 or emailed to [email protected]

Learn how you can help students in AEL classes achieve their goal to pass the high school equivalence test. Send us your name and phone number, we'll register you for the tutor training class.

English Language Tutor

March 21, 2016 9:00am – June 29, 2016 12:00pm

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: 9 am-12 noon

Give an hour, Give 3 or more.
Help someone learn more about American culture and the English language.

Reading, Writing and Math

Tutors are needed for day and evening classes in Cuba (Mon/Wed, 5-8), Rolla (Tue/Thu, 5-8 or Mon/Tue/Thu, 9 am-noon), Owensville (Tue/Thu, 5-8) and St. James (Mon/Thu, 4-7)
Give an hour, give 3 or more. Help someone learn to read or master math for the high school equivalence degree. You can make a difference.
