About Volunteer at Earth Day ATX Festival

On April 13, 2019, thousands from the Austin area and beyond will come together at Huston-Tillotson University to explore topics such as conservation and sustainable solutions, celebrate our love for the environment, and connect with local innovative green businesses and organizations. By volunteering at Earth Day Austin, you will get the opportunity to be a part of rich, in-depth programming, exciting new activities and engaging exhibitions that allow them to discover new connections to the environment and environmental issues.

Get a Sneak Peek of some Volunteer Tasks!

Eco-Discovery Zone
Volunteers will greet people entering the gym and these volunteers will need to know about all of the activities inside it (not just the butterfly tunnel!). Assist in running the VR station, butterfly wall, bees, planetarium, rainforest dome, and much more!

Outdoor Activity Zone & Renewables Marketplace
Volunteers will greet people, let them know about the activities, make sure attendees and themselves are staying hydrated, and lightly assist the climbing wall/obstacle course/trampoline.

Zero Waste Station
Volunteers will educate public on zero waste and help them sort their trash. More instructions and detailed list of recycling vs landfill vs compost to follow.

Info Booth
Check in with folks and see if they have questions and understand the map layout. Sell t-shirts. Give suggestions of activities and programming based on time and their interests.
