About Volunteer Tutors
Tutors will be assisting students with High School Equivalency exam preparation and English as a Second Language. Tutors work with students in a one-to-one or small group setting. There are 2 locations:
Family Literacy Center (Firehouse)
Eastside Education and Training Center

We need volunteers to help with:
Basic Literacy/Math Tutoring

Work one-on-one with an adult student in the areas of basic literacy, and/or basic math.
Tutoring for High School Equivalency exam

One-on-One tutoring for students interested in pursuing their high school equivalency or GED.
Administrative Assistant

Respond to volunteer applications;
Maintain an up to date volunteer roster;
Help to organize volunteer training and appreciation events;
Follow up with volunteers on volunteer experience;
Maintain volunteer and student snack supplies;
Copy and file instructional materials.
