About Outdoor Management Volunteer Opportunity
Description:
Outdoor Management Volunteers help maintain the safety and beauty of Outdoor Learning Environments at Early Head Start Childcare Centers in Durham County. Groups of 5-20 people, are ideal for this opportunity. Tasks vary based on current needs but potential activities include:
• Laying mulch
• Filling sandboxes
• Watering lawns and gardens
• Planting seeds
• Spraying insect repellent
• Organizing outdoor sheds
• Trimming Shrubs
Goal:
Engaging in meaningful outdoor activities has a deep impact on the healthy development of young children. Therefore, while the short-term goal is to keep these outdoor environments safe and inviting, the long-term goal is to help children reach their full potential.
Time Required:
Time will vary based on your volunteer groups preference. One-time or recurring volunteer groups are welcome.
Qualifications and Special Skills:
• Enjoy working outside
• Desire to make a difference
