About Volunteer & Internship Opportunities!

As an intern or volunteer for the Dolores Huerta Foundation, you will learn valuable life lessons while helping the foundation continue its important community organizing work in the areas of grass roots organizing, education, civic engagement, fundraising, GIS, equality and LGBTQ+ rights and the Youth and Family Civic Engagement Initiative.

DHF is based in Bakersfield, California. We are seeking volunteers and interns passionate to work with and on behalf of DHF’s Mission in the following areas.


· Kern County - Arvin, Lamont, Weedpatch, Greenfield, California City, Rosamond and Bakersfield

· Tulare County - Tulare, Lindsay, and Woodlake

· Fresno County - Caruthers, Sanger and Parlier

· Los Angeles County - Palmdale, Lancaster

The residents of these communities are primarily BIPOC, immigrants, and low-income.

Some of our current internship/volunteer opportunities include the following.

Civic Engagement:
Training community members on civic participation and advocacy
Non-partisan voter registration and outreach

Advocacy:
Research
Legislation
Development/Fundraising
Develop Marketing Materials/Graphics
Social Media / Website Designing
Media/Press Relations Coordination

Education:
Youth and Family Civic Engagement Initiative
Parent training and advocacy
