About Work with Horses and People With Functional Diversity (Special Needs)

Did you know it takes 3 people for each participant per hour to conduct our therapy sessions? It really does take a village!
Volunteering is extremely rewarding! We guarantee you will leave with a smile on your face!!!!
Our mission is to work with people who have functional diversity otherwise known as special needs, and teach them how to ride horses. The benefits of therapeutic riding include improved posture and balance, stronger muscles, cognitive improvements, improved hand-eye coordination, improved fine and gross motor control, enhanced communication skills, increased self-confidence and self-esteem and new problem solving skills. Many riders experience a freedom of motion and ability they simply do not or cannot enjoy in other aspects of their lives.

Please join us to learn about our programs and horses! Sign up for horse leader ( works directly with the horse), or side walker ( works with the student and instructor) positions. We also need help with feeding, scooping poop, and grooming. You do not have to have horse experience to join our herd (we will train you), and any age is welcome. We do ask if you are under the age of 14 that a parent come to supervise.

To become a volunteer please send me a message and we will make a time for you to come visit.

Family-Friendly

Parents and children are invited and encouraged to get involved.
