About Writing Tutors

Our writing tutors help out during classroom writing workshops once per week that typically last about an hour in Detroit Public Schools classrooms. We prefer that volunteers can commit to a semester (or longer) being that the kids look forward to your weekly visits!

Application Process

Complete a simple background check as required by Detroit Public Schools, once approved you will do an easy training session with the literacy department and then can be placed in a classroom!
