The Reception for the Blues in Black & White will be the last
First Friday Back Porch Party of 2018.
This extraordinary photography exhibit by William Ferris is on loan from the Center for Southern Culture at Ole Miss. It chronicles the lives and stories of early Blues musicians as they struggled to let the world know what life was like for a black man in the South during the 50's and 60's.

The 45 photographs depict blues men in performance and everyday life. Their stories are told in the pictorial book Give My Poor Heart Ease (for sale at DAC). This exhibit leads up to the October 12 Celebration, A Blues Jubilee, in honor of the Front Porch Jubilee's 5th year.
