About General Volunteers

We are interested in volunteers who are self motivated and eager to jump right into new experiences. We don't have a facility, but foster all of our animals in our homes. We get together at regularly scheduled Adoption Events, usually on the Weekends with a few special ones here and there.

A Volunteer who doesn't foster can still help greatly at these events by tending to the animals while we unload/load our supplies, playing and socializing, walking and watering the animals during the event. Once you feel familiar, you can also engage potential adopters, donors, etc.
We also have a wide variety of ways to help without attending adoption events, such as Humane Education (speaking to groups, classes, etc.), Returning Voice Mails, Recruiting new Volunteers, Fundraising, Creating Newsletters, Engaging followers on Social Media, etc.

No prior experience needed, but you will need a willingness to work with a wide variety of personalities who all work to improve the lives of animals.
If you are under the age of 18, you must be under the supervision of a parent/guardian.

Application Process

Phone Duty

November 1, 2015 12:00am April 30, 2016 12:00am
This task is filled or completed
We are one of the few Rescue Groups that can still be reached by phone. We have a voice mail service and try our best to return calls within a few hours to assist the public. We will teach you everything you need to know to respond as well as be available for questions at any time. We take Phone Duty from Sunday AM to Saturday PM. The more phone duty volunteers we have, the less often we have to take it, but right now, it's approximately once every 6 weeks.

Pull Trailer to Adoption Events

October 17, 2015 12:00am October 15, 2016 12:00am
This task is filled or completed
We keep a lot of our adoption event supplies on our Trailer. Our trailer also advertises us and our arrival at an adoption location. Having someone with a capable vehicle bring the trailer to adoption events (and returning to it's storage area in Horn Lake) would be very beneficial to us.
