Project Homecoming helps families whose homes were damaged by Hurricane Katrina. Additionally, they work with families who are hoping to become homeowners by building brand new homes on previously abandoned or blighted properties. Finally, they work with neighborhoods to leverage their construction ability to improve community space.
They are seeking 6 volunteers to help support registration and silent auction at Project Homecoming’s 2nd Annual Fundraising Gala (http://projecthomecoming.net/tickets/).
We ask all volunteers to arrive at 6:30pm to complete volunteer training for the evening. From 7:00-8:15pm volunteers will run the registration desk (including checking in attendees and assigning bidder numbers). Between 8:15-9:15pm we will only need one person at registration and will man the table in 15 minute shifts, so you will be free to mingle around the event for 45 minutes! (But remember, you’re on the job, so no drinking please!)
At 9:15pm the Silent Auction will close and volunteers will collect all items and bidding sheets from the display areas. Between 9:15-9:45pm we will identify silent auction winners, prepare check out and volunteers will assist in distributing auction prizes to the winners at 9:45pm.
