The Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut is a 501C-3 and regional service organization serving 10-towns in the Greater Danbury area. Our aspiration is to improve access and growth of arts and culture to improve quality of life and the economy. We are located in downtown Danbury, CT.
We serve many; producers and presenters of art and the people who enjoy art; Business and community leaders who understand the value of creativity to raise awareness and community engagement; Municipalities and economic development offices who realize the arts are important to help drive the economy.
Hundreds of visual and performing artists, designers and makers make their way to us each year from all over the region and beyond, to participate in our programs.
Our 287Gallery brings 1000’s of people to Main Street, helping to re-energize downtown Danbury.
Behind the scenes, our work continues with:
One to one consultations with artists seeking resources and additional support
Arts organizations looking for promotional opportunities and partnerships;
Business leaders wanting to connect with the arts community to build awareness and increase engagement;
We are the fiscal sponsor of three projects; Lullaby Requiem; Bethel Arts; and the CT; Film Festival -making it possible for them to receive the support they need to grow and thrive;
For three years, we re-granted state funding to approximately 20 local projects in the Greater Danbury area;
We advocate for arts funding and bills to advance the arts sector in Hartford and Washington
