About CrossRoads Missions Mexico

The CrossRoads Missions Mexico field has been serving in the city of Piedras Negras, Coahuila since 1993. During that time construction has been a big part of our ministry, especially in coming alongside and helping existing ministries. We have been involved in the construction and renovation of numerous houses, schools, churches, and orphanages.

Our longest running project has been the construction of the neighborhood of Piedra Angular on the west side of the city. The dream of CrossRoads Mexico with this project was to build a neighborhood centered around the idea of missional living, that would look radically different than anything else in the city, not just in architecture and style but more importantly in the example of Christlikeness and service.

There are currently 35 families with homes in the neighborhood as well as a large community center that hosts a church. There is still room for nine additional homes before the neighborhood will be complete. Almost all of this progress has come from two decades of faithful service from thousands of volunteers from our partner churches in the states.

As a border city immigrants and refugees have always been part of Piedras Negras and the ministry of CrossRoads Mexico. However, in recent years we have seen a drastic increase in the number of immigrants in our city. Much of this is a result of turmoil and oppression in Central and South America. In response to this immense need we threw ourselves into finding ways to serve and care for this hurting and vulnerable population.

Since involving ourselves in refugee and immigrant relief we have worked with thousands of people from many different countries and even continents. We began by supporting a local shelter and have since branched off into many other ventures including a soup kitchen, grocery deliveries, and transportation. The needs of these people are constantly changing based on different nationalities and circumstances and politics. We are very thankful for the opportunities that we have been blessed with to provide for their physical and spiritual needs and show them that true hope and peace are only found in Christ.
