About CATA Dinner-Workshops

CATA Dinner Workshops are free and open to the public, but nominations (including self-nominations) are required and must be approved; and RSVPs are also required, as seating is limited and is assigned in advance, in order to provide a balance of ideological perspectives at each table. A new discussion topic is presented for exploration at each event. Subject matter experts introduce the topic, typically after a gourmet buffet dinner is enjoyed, providing participants with a chance to get to know their tablemates. Discussions are facilitated, and working agreements are reviewed, providing rules of the road for constructive dialog. The heart of each workshop is the discussions that take place at each table, following the presentation. Each table has a unique set of questions. The participants explore their views, and either arrive at a consensus, or identify specifically what and why their disagree. It's a unique opportunity to get past the headlines and the sound bites to discuss real issues!
