PAL
Hosted by: Compeer
About PAL
PAL’s mission is to build children’s self-esteem, promote learning and enable social, cultural and emotional growth. The Elmira Neighborhood House first organized it in 1963. For many years, it operated in partnership with the Elmira City School District. It now joins Family Services as a complement to Compeer and Circle of Friends Programs.
We need volunteers to help with:
Volunteer Mentors
The program seeks volunteer mentors willing to meet weekly with a student. Volunteers previously matched with a PAL student are encouraged to come back to the program. Unlike other mentoring programs, PAL encourages volunteers and students to meet outside of school and engage in community activities.
