Aunt Mary’s Storybook

Cook County Jail: Chicago, Illinois
Help out by going inside Division 2 of the Cook County Jail once each month to help incarcerated fathers read to their children. We are looking for one person who is available on the second Thursday of each month from 10:00 AM until 2:30 PM. Volunteer must have own form of transportation. Prior experience interacting directly with justice-involved individuals preferred.

DeKalb County Jail: Sycamore, Illinois
Help out by going inside the institution once each month to help incarcerated people read to their children. We are looking for one person who is available on the second Friday of each month from 1:45 PM until 4:00 PM. Prospective volunteers must have own form of transportation.

DuPage County Jail: Wheaton, Illinois
Help out by going inside the institution once each month to help incarcerated people read to their children. We are looking for one person who is available on the second Wednesday of each month from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM. Due to this session being one in which we work with female detainees, a female volunteer is required. Prospective volunteers must have own form of transportation.

Kendall County Jail: Yorkville, Illinois
Help out by going inside the institution once every other month to help incarcerated people read to their children. We are looking for one person who is available on the third Thursday of every other month (January, March, May, July, September, and November) from 12:45 PM until 3:00 PM. Prospective volunteers must have own form of transportation.

Randolph County Jail: Chester, Illinois
Help out by going inside the institution once each month to help incarcerated fathers and mothers read to their children. We are looking for folks who are available on the third Monday of each month from 5:15 PM to 7:30 PM. Prospective volunteers must have own form of transportation.
