About 2017 Phone Book Delivery

The Columbus East Lions Club secures volunteers to deliver phone books for a local publisher, and the delivery fee is then given to Lions Club, rather than hiring individuals to deliver. This is a fundraising project that will help Lions Club to provide sight and hearing assistance to the indigent persons in Lowndes County, including eye examinations, glasses, and major eye surgeries at no cost to those that qualify.

Volunteers will be participating in the delivery of some 12,000 phone books throughout the city of Columbus. Each volunteer will be assigned to a route as a driver or walker. Drivers must be 21 or older. Each team will have a specific route to cover. Food will be provided upon completion of routes.

The delivery will take place on February 25 beginning at 7 am. Volunteers will meet at Atmos Energy and must commit to at least four hours. Volunteers will receive credit for four hours of work even if their route takes less time than that to complete.
