About Volunteer Opportunities at Code2College

Volunteerism is one of the core facets of the Code2College program model. We offer a number of opportunities for volunteers to educate, connect with, and mentor our students.

Workshop Volunteer: Mentors work with groups of students to build critical professional skills such as resume development and interview prep. Our mentors also lead students through a variety of STEM case competitions, emphasizing teamwork while providing exposure to various STEM fields.

Mass Remote Event Volunteer: These asynchronous events are fully remote and designed to tackle professional and technical barriers to entry for underrepresented students. Volunteers review student submitted material like resume, cover letters, and college application essays to provide feedback within a 48-hour window.

Volunteer Coding Instructor: Provide direct, hands-on instruction to high-school students during after-school coding classes in a variety of front-end (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript), back-end (Python), and database (mySQL) technologies. Classes are remote and held for 1 hour twice a week for 8 weeks. All material for the class is provided including scripted lessons.
