Benthic macroinvertebrate monitoring
Hosted by: Coastal Research Volunteers
About Benthic macroinvertebrate monitoring
We will be collecting water quality and benthic macroinvertebrate data at the Sagamore Hampton Gold Club to assess water quality in the water bodies of the Golf Club, to understand the physical, chemical and biological conditions over time, and to evaluate effectiveness of turf management strategies
We need volunteers to help with:
Benthic macroinvertebrate training - 1pm
October 6, 2013 8:00pm
Join us both in the classroom and the field to learn how to collect, sort and identify bugs to determine the health of our local streams! The training will begin in the classroom at the Sea Grant office in Lee, and then we will carpool to a local spot to test our new knowledge in the field. Please bring boots if you have them!
Benthic macroinvertebrate sampling
October 10, 2013 8:00pm
Join us at the Sagamore-Hampton Golf course in North Hampton to evaluate the health of Cornelius Brook by collecting water quality and benthic macroinvertebrate samples. For this first sampling effort we will be working with a 6th grade class from North Hampton School to help us collect and identify the bugs. The time is still to be determined.
