Hosted by: City Year Chicago
On Monday, January 15th, 2017, volunteers will join City Year’s 2,500+ corps members at locations across the United States to participate in a day of service to commemorate the civil rights movement and honor the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. City Year celebrates Dr. King's birthday as a "day ON, not a day off” by honoring his legacy through service projects such as mural and wall painting, restoring park areas, landscaping community spaces and leading educational activities for children.
Here at City Year Chicago, we've been doing MLK Day since our inception in the Windy City in 1994 and this year, we are proud to announce our partnership with Gale Community Academy in the Rogers Park community for MLK Day 2017!
Over 1,000 volunteers from across the city and state will come together on this day to transform and beautify Gale with murals, painting and light construction projects in an effort to reconnect, transform, uplift, and inspire the students, staff, and community. Don’t miss out on this opportunity; the students need you!
Parents and children are invited and encouraged to get involved.
No one has signed up yet, but you could be the first!
