About Alpha Sigma Phi Workday!

We will be removing buckthorn from the forest and using it to create Rabbitat.

Buckthorn is a relatively short, shrubby, invasive tree that takes over forest open spaces and prevents most other plants from growing. By removing it we are creating a space that we can plant native plants and give the forest (both plants and animals) a healthier, more diverse landscape to enjoy.

The only thing buckthorn is used for is cover for small mammals and birds. This is why, when we remove it, we build large brush piles (aka Rabbitat) with the trees. Instructions will be given on-site.

Application Process

Sign up here on GiveGab if you are interested in attending. All instructions will be given on-site. But, if you have questions, comments, or concerns, contact me (Heather)!
