About Family/Parent Addiction Coaching

CAA welcomes citizens in the Louisville area who have personally been impacted by substance addiction to join our volunteer team. Hours will vary 5-10 hours a month.

CAA Family/Parent Addiction Coaching is a peer-to-peer relational building program, by which a family member seeking help for a loved one is paired with a CAA Family/Parent Addiction Coach who has also traveled the path of dealing with a family member's substance use.

By volunteering and being trained as a CAA Family/Parent Addiction Coach, you will be providing hope and encouragement to families facing their loved ones substance use.

Volunteer Coaches assist families, over the phone,or in person, to navigate the complex world of addiction. While navigating the system of addiction can be overwhelming, a compassionate heart for families dealing with their loved ones addiction is essential as a CAA Family/Parent Addiction Coach.

While expert advice can and should be an important part of families seeking help for their loved one struggling with substance use, it can be life-changing to talk with someone who has been in their shoes.

Coaches listen to a person's story that often accompany a loved one’s substance use.

Whether it’s questions about how to file Casey’s Law, locating a family support group, talking prevention, how to be trained in naloxone, to understanding treatment options, understanding the addicted brain, or guidance in how to navigate the system, CAA Coaches connect individuals with resources, listen, and answer questions, and if needed, help create an action plan.

Join us, as we help families navigate the complex world of addiction.
