About 4th Annual Shared Threads: Stories That Weave Us Together

Celebrate Stories of Home with Chrysalis
On March 3, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., join us for Shared Threads: Stories That Weave Us Together—our 4th Annual Storytelling Event held at the Goodman Community Center Brassworks in conjunction with The Big Share, an online day of giving sponsored by Community Shares of Wisconsin.
Doors open at 4:30p.m. Reserve your in person or virtual seat today at Givebutter.com/SharedThreads. Watch the livestream here on the day of the event.
This powerful evening will feature nine courageous storytellers from our three-part storytelling workshop series, each sharing their unique story of HOME.
These stories offer a chance to challenge common misconceptions about mental health and substance use while providing individuals with a platform to be seen, celebrated, and supported. By fostering a community of storytellers, we aim to reduce stigma and deepen understanding of the challenges many face.

Hear From Our Past Storytellers:
“It can be hard, and it can bring on so much emotion or a flashback, but for me, I would recommend anybody doing it so that people can be there for them and know that people are there for them.” - Cody Vogel, 2023 Storyteller
"I had the privilege of sharing my story of recovery at last year’s Shared Threads event. The experience allowed me to reflect on the different ways Chrysalis played a part in my healing journey. It also gave me the opportunity to reflect on the ways my community and my own determination helped me go from crisis to stabilization. The workshops leading up to the event gave me the guidance I needed to refine my storytelling skills and helped to give me the confidence I needed to speak in front of a live audience. The day of the event was so uplifting. It was so encouraging to hear how the other storytellers walked in their own paths of recovery. We were all so well received and supported. I’m grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of such a positive event." - Kimberly Freeman, 2024 Storyteller
