About SHORT FILM CONTEST!

Since Chiaroscuro's inception 8 years ago, many up and coming West Michigan filmmakers have made their big screen debut during our film series. We are proud to promote student filmmakers from local colleges and universities as they pursue their dream of creating motion pictures. Every Chiaroscuro feature film screening of a carefully selected international film is preceded by a local student short film and a brief Q and A with someone who helped write, direct, or produce the short. While our SHORT FILM CONTEST is complete this year (we look forward to showing some amazing West Michigan student films during our 2014 series), we are always accepting new local student shorts for next year's contest.
