Giving is Gorges 2016

A fundraising campaign for Challenge Workforce Solutions

Help people with disabilities and employment barriers find meaningful work in their community!

Everyone has the capacity to learn, grow and contribute to their community.

Some people know what their contribution will be from a young age, while others take a little longer to find their niche. Some need a little help to get where they're going, others seem to be born with a map of their journey in their hands.

You have an opportunity to aid people with disabilities and barriers to employment in finding the right path in their journey to meaningful work in the community. By rising to the challenge and making a contribution, you will ensure people facing barriers will have continued access to support and services that will help them achieve their goals and find personal success.

You have a chance to make a difference in the life of someone facing roadblocks to finding a job in our community through a contribution to our Giving is Gorges campaign. Every amount given makes an impact.

A $25 contribution would:

-- Pay for breakfast and lunch for one job seeker in our Job Club program for two weeks.

-- Pay for new interview clothing or specialty work uniforms.

A $50 donation would:

-- Pay for a week of transportation for program participants undertaking a volunteer experience.

-- Pay for seeds and growing supplies needed for Ability in Bloom, a cooperative enterprise of growing and selling cut flowers, using the unique abilities of program participants to create a productive team.

A $100 donation would:

-- Pay for a week of transportation for workers to travel from Challenge in Ithaca to our Finger Lakes Fresh Food Hub facility in Groton.

-- Pay for a computer training course for job applicants.

A $250 donation would:

-- Pay for a youth with disabilities to have the opportunity to take part in an afterschool or summer work experience.

-- Pay for equipment that makes jobs accessible for workers with disabilities.

While Challenge does operate five social enterprise businesses to support our mission, the majority of people we work with find employment with one of the approximately 300 community employers with which we partner. People who take advantage of our programs and services will find a wide variety of job preparation and experiential opportunities to guide them as they navigate toward fulfilling their employment goals.

Help people with disabilities and barriers to employment with your donation to Challenge's Giving is Gorges campaign today!
