Who We Are
Centro de Trabajadores Unidos: Immigrant Workers’ Project (CTU) envisions a healthy and thriving local economy in which worker rights are respected, their dignity upheld, and their labor justly compensated. Healthy workplaces support healthy individuals and families and together we build a strong community. Therefore, our current objective is to establish a community center for the communities of the southeast side of Chicago and south suburbs of Chicago.
How You Can Make an Impact
With the construction of the new facility, the following opportunities will be available for the community:
- Community residents will have a space to gather, meet and organize on local, state and federal issues
- Available temporarily housing for immigrants who are new arrivals and in need of temporary housing
- Greater office space to provide community residents with assistance on labor, immigration, housing and other work related issues
- CTU will serve as an incubator for the development of small businesses, social enterprise and workforce development
