About Prayer-Mate
The Prayer-Mate program is a spiritual "pen- pal" system in which participants, using only their first names, communicate through a CentrePeace coordinator with community volunteers. Many inmates have credited the program with helping them develop a sense of re-connection to the community.
We need volunteers to help with:
Coordinator of Prayer-Mate
2 to 3 hours per week reviewing correspondence and guiding other volunteers. Very flexible hours. Prayer-Mate is a spiritual correspondence program matching anonymous volunteers with inmates at one of PA's 27 Correctional Institutions, SCI-Rockview. Correspondence is screened and delivered by Centre Peace.
