About Transitional Living Program

It is the belief of Stepping Stone Transitional Living Program that all young people deserve the opportunity to develop the skills, behaviors, and attitudes needed to become independent, mature, responsible, and productive adults. Self improvement can be facilitated with the guidance and support of caring, respectful adults in a physically and emotionally safe environment. It is our mission to provide the opportunity for self-growth to those young people to whom it has been previously denied.

Stepping Stone is a 8 bed transitional living program located in State College, Pennsylvania. Licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, the program serves placement and homeless youth ages 16 to 21 for up to 18 months of programming. The program's primary mission is to provide youth with a nurturing, supportive, and challenging environment conducive to learning the independent living skills needed to make the transition to self-sufficiency. Stepping Stone is one of many programs of the Centre County Youth Service Bureau, a non-profit corporation that has provided counseling services to children, youth and families for 25 years.
