About The Proud, The Few, The Green Crew

Did you notice that the Trash Crew has a new motto? They’re now The Proud, The Few, The Green Crew! With the help of some outstanding volunteers and community partners (hats off to the Borough of State College, Penn State, and the Centre County Solid Waste Authority!), we’ve embarked on an effort to move the Festival to a zero-landfill waste event. You’ll see more opportunities to recycle this year than you have in the past as we take our first steps in “going green.”

“The Proud, The Few, The Green Crew” is in need of volunteers over the duration of the Festival. The crew is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the Festival zone as well as emptying the trash and recycling receptacles. This is a great opportunity for groups looking to help since it is an outstanding team building activity and oodles of fun. Seriously. You will not believe how much fun it is. All of those volunteering for “The Crew” will receive a special collectible and trash crew T-shirt—sought after by fashionistas from coast to coast.

Some lifting and walking is required of trash crew members and sensible shoes (sneakers or work shoes/boots) are a must.

Application Process

If you or your group would like to participate in the Trash Crew, please contact Bill Ryan, Trash Crew Chair.
