About "LOOK UP" Challenge $3,000 GOAL for student incentives/gifts - a program designed for our 5-8th grade students to abstain from social media!

We encourage supporters of Cathedral-Carmel School to donate on December 1st by visiting the link below. Our CCS goal this year is to raise a minimum of $3,000 to assist with the "Look Up" Challenge incentives/gifts given to the students in grades 5-8th who abstain from social media for the entire year.

Please consider making an “online” donation through #iGiveCatholic to raise money for our LOOK UP Challenge. This CCS program was established two (2) years ago to challenge our middle school students in grades 5th -8th to abstain from social media for the entire school year. Students were asked to delete the following social media apps from their phones: Tik Tok, Snapchat, Instagram, VSCO, and Facebook. The “LOOK UP” name is a reminder for our students to “LOOK UP” to GOD and to each other…instead of “looking down” at their phones and other electronic devices.
We recognize, the older the student, the harder it is to abstain from social media; so we feel that it is important to encourage as well as, reward our middle school students who successfully complete the LOOK UP Challenge. Students who remain committed to the LOOK UP pledge are rewarded at the end of the year with various incentives / gifts. It is powerful to hear student testimonials as they convey the positive impact that the LOOK UP Challenge has had upon their self-esteem, their relationships with friends, family and, most importantly, with God.
“Look Up has given me the opportunity to no longer think about how many ‘likes’ or how many ‘followers’ I have but to think about what is most important such as my friends, family, and relationship with God.” – CCS middle school student
“When I feel like quitting the challenge, I remind myself that things are so much easier without the pressure of social media.” – CCS middle school student
Thank you for your continued support!
