About CASA Advocate

CASA New Orleans (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is an agency which advocates on behalf of children (birth to 18+) who have been judged victims of abuse and/or neglect. The duties carried out by a CASA are extremely important. No special education or skills are required. We provide thorough training and continual support.

Are you interested in becoming a CASA Advocate? The next step is coming out to an orientation! Please contact the Recruiter/Trainer at [email protected] to find out the upcoming orientation dates.

A CASA volunteer offers a child trust and advocacy during complex legal proceeding. A CASA also steps in to make sure the child’s needs are being met while they are in foster care, and will often visit the child’s school and go to special meetings with the child’s social workers and doctors. Interacting and explaining to the child what is going on, the CASA may be the only stable and continuous presence in his/her life.
