About Clean Down Under

Clean Down Under™ (CDU) raises awareness about a hidden hazard—the litter accumulating on the ocean floor along the Carlsbad coastline and in the nearby lagoons.

With the assistance of state and private dive teams, the program provides an opportunity for individuals and organizations to collect the trash hiding below the water’s surface and reveal to the public the damaging effects it has on marine life and the ecosystem.

As the program works to secure funding and form community partnerships, CDU hopes to launch its first dive in open waters off Carlsbad beaches in 2013.
