About Camp Buddies for Bereavement Camp for Children

Camp Agape Bereavement Camp for Children is a 501c3 non-profit organization committed to helping children who have suffered the loss of a loved one. Our faith-based summer camp sessions offer the fun and activities of a "typical" summer camp and a creative program focused on helping children work with their loss, learn from their grief, and find new hope. The summer camps provided by Camp Agape are offered at no cost to children between the ages of seven and twelve.

Volunteers are the heart of our program. We rely on them to provide quality services for every child that comes to Camp Agape. We are lucky to have the very best volunteers. Our volunteers tell us they receive as much from volunteering as they give.

Our volunteers come to us with a variety of backgrounds and life experiences. They are homemakers, teachers, mental health professionals, business professionals, military, students, and retirees. Some, but not all, of our volunteers have experienced losses as children or adults. Most of all, they are caring individuals who understand the importance of providing support to grieving children. This is our only requirement in becoming a volunteer at Camp Agape.
