Art from the Heart connects volunteers, patients, caregivers and art supplies at UVM Medical Center!

Art from the Heart has served patients and caregivers at the UVM Medical Center since 1994. Today, a devoted team of 30 volunteers share art supplies with over 5,000 pediatric and adult patients, caregivers, and staff, helping individuals and families experience creativity, imagination and expression in gentle and playful ways, and ultimately, helping them feel better through art.

Art kits are available to pediatric patients and caregivers 24 hours a day, and waiting areas, in-patient hospital rooms and chemotherapy infusion bays become temporary art studios for patients and their families, transforming the hospital environment. This beautiful program helps the hospital become a more comfortable place for patients and caregivers by offering them an opportunity for creative expression and possibility.
