About Help us make sure everyone counts! | HOPE Count '19
Each January, Breaking Ground partners with the New York City Department of Homeless Services in their annual Homeless Outreach Population Estimate (HOPE), a unique overnight event during which volunteers fan out across the city and conduct a census of New Yorkers sleeping outside. This year, HOPE will take place on January 28, 2019, from late Monday night to early Tuesday morning, and Breaking Ground volunteers will be covering a section of midtown, Manhattan, including Times Square.
Many volunteers return year after year for an experience they describe as “rewarding” and “enlightening.” It’s truly a chance to connect with New York City and its inhabitants like never before.
Volunteers like you make this census possible, so please sign up today at https://cground.wufoo.com/forms/s1bdpaz50ba3rpy/
After you complete the registration form, we’ll send you all the details about where to meet and what to expect. We’ll provide night-of training, pair you with experienced volunteers, and feed you coffee, breakfast, and snacks.
We hope to see you out on January 28.
Warmly,
Your friends at Breaking Ground
